For example, if you
have 1 cabinet door with 2 hinges on it, you will need to order 2
hinges, and 2 plates.

The
frame-less cabinet is measured very similar to the standard face frame
cabinets seen in most projects in the USA and Canada. The
European/frame-less design eliminated the need for a face frame which
allows the hinges to attach to the inside of the cabinet case rather
than the inside edge of a face frame. The front edge of the case
typically has an edge banding applied to the face to match the exterior
wood type of the cabinet box.
SINGLE
DOOR ON A SINGLE FRAME-LESS OPENING:
Summary: OPENING
SIZE= 16 1/2" X 33 1/2"
DOOR SIZE= 17 1/2" X
34 1/2"
Measuring is done by taking the opening
hole dimensions. For this example we will use an opening (hole) width of
16 1/2" wide by 33 1/2" tall. Next, we will add 1/2" to the left,
right, top, and bottom (i.e. add 1" to the width, and add 1" to the
height of opening) to get the size of the cabinet door to cover the
opening.
Summary: OPENING
SIZE= 16 1/2" X 33 1/2"
DOOR SIZES= 8 3/4" X
34 1/2"
(2 doors needed)
Measuring is done by taking the opening hole
dimensions. For this example we will use an opening (hole) width of 16
1/2" wide by 33 1/2" tall. Next, we will add 1/2" to the left, right,
top, and bottom (i.e. add 1" to the width, and add 1" to the height of
opening). This gets us 17 1/2" wide by 34 1/2" tall. Now, lets divide
the width by 2 (2 x doors). We now have a width of 8 3/4" and a height
of 34 1/2".
***Do
not add any gap between the two door, gap should be zero. You will be
able to adjust the doors slightly to allow them to barely miss each
other when the doors close.
Warnings: Be sure that you have a 1/8" to 1/4" gap between the doors once
they are installed on the cabinet (only a very slight hairline gap is
needed between a pair of doors covering a single opening). This 1/8" to 1/4" gap
between doors will ensure that the door has room to operate freely
without rubbing other doors and/or objects.
